LDI – Laser Diode Illuminator
High Power and Low Cost Multiline Laser Illuminator
89 North
The LDI Laser Diode Illuminator is a multiline, solid-state laser illuminator with up to seven laser lines covering most of the standard fluorescence probes in the visible range. The high output power of up to 1000 mW per wavelength allows short exposure times to visualize fast process. This small box system requires less space and only one fiber must be connected and aligned to the microscopic setup in comparison to a couple of single laser light sources.
The LDI is available as spot illumination laser light source with a multi-mode fiber as well as a widefield illumination light source with a liquid light guide.
Low Cost vs. High Power and Precision
The LDI contains up to seven laser lines (405 nm, 445 nm, 470 nm, 520 nm, 528 nm, 555 nm*, 640 nm; *optional) with an output power of up to 1000 mW per wavelength at the price of a low power LED light engine. The feedback controlled output stability enables quantitative imaging and a high repeatability. A linear dynamic range of up to 100:1 gives the ability to turn the laser power down proportionally, if needed and maintain the stability and the quantitative imaging.
Easy to Use
The LDI system is easy to use and does not require any alignment or maintenance. A small software tool, which does not require any software specific driver, allows you to switch ON/ OFF and to regulate the laser intensity. In addition, the LDI is fully implemented in our SysCon software enabling applications in combination with the devices of the AiWon series and UGA‑42 series. In addition, each wavelength of the multi-laser engine can be externally and separately triggered by a TTL signal (ON/ OFF).
